According to reports, the 41-year-old mother reportedly forced her young son in the trunk of her car after the 13-year-old boy had tested positive for COVID-19. The mom reportedly said that she put her son inside the trunk to prevent her from getting exposed to possible Coronavirus while driving the boy to the stadium for additional testing. The health services director at the site told the mother that she and her son would not be tested until the teen was removed from the trunk and seated in the vehicle.

The 41-year-old mother and teacher from Texas, Sarah Beam, 41, drove her son to a drive-thru COVID-19 testing center on Jan. 3, where she had sought to attain further testing according to reports. She is now facing criminal charges after, officials say.

Witnesses reportedly heard noises coming from the back of her vehicle when she pulled up at the testing center.

The health services director at the site, Bevin Gordon, reportedly asked the mother to open the trunk, revealing the teenager lying down inside.

Beam, who has worked as a teacher in the CF Independent School District since 2011, explained she was trying to keep her son isolated.
