Deputies respond to train vs. vehicle crash near the grade crossing at Alexander Avenue

Caddo Parish, LA – According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 1:09 a.m. early Friday morning.

It happened near the grade crossing at Alexander Avenue. 

Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies, Caddo Fire District 1 crews, Blanchard Police Department officers and KCS responded to a report of a crash.

The responding deputies discovered that the 26-year-old driver, later identified as Jasmine Price, attempted to drive on the tracks near the grade crossing at Alexander Avenue.

The woman exited the vehicle and just as the officer attempted to contact KCS, a train came by crashing into the car, dragging it about a half-mile and setting it on fire.

It was later determined that Price was driving while intoxicated.

The 26-year-old woman was arrested and taken into custody.

This incident remains under investigation.
