78-year-old driver dies in Sunday afternoon crash after vehicle leaves road, strikes tree, state police say

Bossier City, LA – According to the Louisiana State Police, the fatal crash occurred around 2:47 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

It happened on I-20.

Louisiana State Police troopers responded to a report of a crash.

The responding troopers discovered that the 78-year-old driver of a Dodge pickup, later identified as Jerry Lynn, left the road and struck a tree.

The 78-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Toxicology samples were taken and submitted for analysis, troopers said.

This incident remains under investigation.
