Local man arrested after he threatened to blow up a Shreveport courthouse and kill African Americans on Monday

Shreveport, LA – CPSO officials said the 41-year-old man, later identified as Patrick Duffy, was arrested on Monday.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office said the 41-year-old suspect reportedly threatened to blow up a Shreveport courthouse and kill African Americans.

After further investigation, authorities determined that Duffy messaged a person known to him about his plan to blow up a Shreveport courthouse and to kill African Americans in Shreveport.

He was arrested and charged with one count of communicating false information of planned arson and one count of a hate crime.  

Duffy was taken into custody at his residence on Monday night.

He was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center.
