Lafayette, LA – A city worker was killed on Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle while preparing for roadwork on a local street. According to Ville Platte Mayor Ryan Leday Williams, the worker was in the process of laying down traffic cones when the fatal collision occurred.
The incident took place as the worker was just beginning his shift. Mayor Williams confirmed that the worker’s death was immediate upon impact. “The worker was setting up for road work when a vehicle struck him,” Williams said.
