ACADIA PARISH, La. — A Youngsville man was arrested on January 9 in connection with a deadly crash that occurred on November 19, 2024, on US 90 near Ebenezer Road. The crash resulted in the death of Gilbert Price Jr., 59, of Rayne.
Billy Kritzer, 42, was taken into custody after toxicology results from the crash revealed the presence of illegal narcotics in his system at the time of the incident. Following standard procedures, samples were collected from Kritzer after the crash and sent for analysis. Once the results came back, the Louisiana State Police obtained an arrest warrant for Kritzer, leading to his booking at the Acadia Parish Correctional Facility.
Kritzer is facing charges of vehicular homicide and reckless operation of a vehicle. The investigation into the crash revealed that Kritzer’s actions contributed to the fatal incident, and the presence of narcotics in his system played a significant role in the charges brought against him.
The crash, which occurred in the early morning hours of November 19, claimed the life of Price, who was traveling on US 90 at the time. The tragic incident has brought attention to the dangers of impaired driving and the impact it can have on innocent lives.
