Emergency Power Outage Scheduled for Fulton Substation

by Lina Tarson

Lafayette, LA – Jeff Davis Electric Cooperative (JDEC) has announced an emergency power outage at the Fulton Substation, set to begin at 2:30 p.m. today. The outage is necessary to repair damaged equipment at the substation, which the utility company believes is behind recent power interruptions in the area.

The repair work is expected to resolve the ongoing issues and restore stability to the electric supply. JDEC officials have estimated that the outage will last approximately three hours, during which time affected areas will experience a temporary loss of power.

The outage will impact residents and businesses located along the four-way at West Creole Highway to the Ferry. JDEC urges all members in the affected areas to plan accordingly, as the interruption is expected to be brief but necessary for long-term reliability.

The cooperative emphasized the importance of these repairs in ensuring the continued efficiency and safety of the electric grid in the region.
