SULPHUR, La. – A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred just before 1:00 p.m. on January 23, 2025, on Louisiana Highway 27, approximately north of Louisiana Highway 379 (Houston River Road). The collision tragically claimed the life of 50-year-old Walter Clinton, a resident of Leesville.
According to the Louisiana State Police, Clinton was traveling southbound on a 2012 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when, for reasons still under investigation, the motorcycle veered into the northbound lane. Clinton’s motorcycle struck a 2018 Dodge Charger head-on.
Clinton, who was wearing a DOT-approved helmet at the time of the crash, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the Dodge Charger, however, were all properly restrained, and while the driver suffered minor injuries, they were otherwise unharmed.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Authorities have indicated that standard toxicology samples were taken and will be analyzed as part of the inquiry.
