Fire Claims Lives of Two Dogs in Scott, No Human Injuries Reported

Lafayette, LA – A devastating fire early Monday morning in Scott, Louisiana, resulted in the deaths of two dogs, though no humans were harmed. The Scott Fire Department responded to the blaze at a residence located in the 200 block of Fenetre Road around 3 a.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy flames visible from several windows of the house. The homeowner confirmed to authorities that no one was inside at the time of the fire. Despite the intense flames, firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within approximately 20 minutes.

Unfortunately, two dogs inside the house were unable to escape the fire and perished in the blaze. The home itself sustained significant fire damage throughout, leaving it a total loss.

Units from the Lafayette, Duson, and Judice fire departments provided assistance in combating the fire. An investigation into the cause of the incident is currently ongoing. Authorities have yet to determine the exact origin of the fire.
