Four Men Indicted in November Lafayette Shooting That Left Two Dead, Two Critically Wounded

Lafayette, LA – A grand jury in Lafayette has indicted four men in connection with a shooting that took place in November 2024, leaving two people dead and two others critically wounded.

The men, Dylon James Doucet, 26, of St. Martinville; Dnedrick Dawan Wilson, 26, of Youngsville; Trevon Terrell Charles, 26, of St. Martinville; and Davontae Vontrell Gradner, 25, of St. Martinville, have been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and two counts of attempted second-degree murder.

The charges stem from a violent incident that occurred at a popular University Avenue restaurant, a busy area in Lafayette. According to police, the shooting resulted in the death of Corey Mouton, 26, of Carencro, at the scene, while Jamir Carmouche, 24, of Lafayette, later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. Two additional victims were critically wounded but survived the attack.

The incident, which took place during a particularly crowded time at the restaurant, sent shockwaves through the community. In the aftermath, local businesses and organizations held fundraising events to support the victims of the shooting and their families.

Lafayette Police had initially confirmed the tragic deaths, noting the severity of the situation.
