Louisiana – Jeff Landry opened the third Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature by highlighting accomplishments from the past year and outlining key priorities for the months ahead.
During his address, the governor pointed to what he described as significant progress across the state, including nearly $100 billion secured in economic development, reductions in crime rates, improvements in education outcomes, and lower auto insurance costs for Louisiana drivers.
Landry also discussed several priorities for the 2026 Regular Session. Among them are efforts to eliminate Louisiana’s vehicle inspection sticker requirement and strengthen the state’s LA GATOR scholarship program.
Additional goals include better aligning Louisiana’s education and workforce systems with the needs of the state’s growing economy and advancing judicial reforms.
The governor said the upcoming legislative session will focus on building on recent progress while continuing to address key issues affecting residents across Louisiana.
