New Iberia Man Arrested Following Homicide and Multi-Parish Car Chase

NEW IBERIA, La. — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a Saturday morning homicide in New Iberia that prompted a multi-parish car chase, authorities confirmed. Marklin Reaux, 36, was taken into custody and booked into the Iberia Parish Jail facing several serious charges.

According to the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office, Reaux has been charged with first-degree murder, possession of Schedule I and Schedule II controlled dangerous substances (CDS), theft of a motor vehicle, and aggravated flight from an officer.
