New K-9 team begins service with Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office

Lafayette, LA – The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office announced that Corporal Jared Havard has been named the department’s newest K-9 handler.

Havard and his partner, K-9 Riggs, recently completed the required handler’s course and are set to begin field training.

Officials congratulated the new team as they prepare to begin their work serving the Lafayette Parish community.
