Police respond to attempted ATM burglary at the Ouachita Valley Federal Credit Union

Monroe, LA – According to the Monroe Police Department, this incident occurred around 3:09 a.m. early Tuesday morning.

It happened at the Ouachita Valley Federal Credit Union located at 1709 MLK Blvd.

Monroe Police Department responded to the location to assist the Monroe Fire Department on a fire at the ATM machine.

The responding officers discovered that the door to the ATM was pried open in attempts to commit a burglary.

An incendiary device was used which ignited a fire, police officials said.

The Monroe Police Department Bomb Team was called to the scene.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
