Lafayette, LA – A St. Landry Parish grand jury has handed down indictments in connection with two recent slayings, resulting in charges for six individuals.

In the first case, three individuals have been indicted on charges related to the October shooting death of 29-year-old Jaleel Guidry. Guidry was killed while sitting in a vehicle outside his home on Ina Claire Drive, alongside his girlfriend and two young children. Prosecutors allege that the gunfire came from a black SUV, which was driven by Gerard Griffin Jr., 28, and carried two other passengers, Deshawn Hickman, 30, and Isaiarion Warden, 27. The grand jury has indicted the three men on one count each of first-degree murder, three counts of attempted first-degree murder, and one count of assault by drive-by shooting.

Additionally, two individuals, Alexziah Joseph, 27, and Finecia Draper, 51, have been indicted in connection with the shooting. Joseph, who drove to Opelousas from Alexandria the night of the incident, is accused of picking up the three shooters. Draper, identified as Griffin’s mother, has been indicted for accessory after the fact to first-degree murder.

In the second case, 24-year-old Danger Johnson has been indicted for the second-degree murder of 17-year-old Davasha Robertson. Robertson was shot near the corner of Kim Drive and Washington Street in November. She later succumbed to her injuries after fighting for her life in the hospital. Prosecutors allege that Johnson fired at a vehicle containing Robertson and four other individuals. The grand jury also indicted Johnson on four counts of attempted murder related to the shooting.

Both cases continue to draw attention from the community, with the accused facing serious charges as the legal process moves forward.
