The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call around 6:55 p.m. regarding the incident, which led to the discovery of a man’s body in a vehicle.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies located 45-year-old Codie James, a resident of St. Martinville, who was found deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
