Shreveport, LA – According to the Shreveport Fire Department, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 9 a.m. Sunday.
It happened in the 1100 block of Portland Avenue.
Shreveport Fire Department crews responded to a report of a house fire.
The responding crews saw heavy fire and smoke coming from the front entrance.
They were able to quickly extinguish the blaze.
The home sustained heavy fire damage in half of it and smoke and heat damage throughout.
Shreveport Fire Department officials said the homeowner made it out before the firefighters arrived.
The owner suffered injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The cause of fire remains under investigation.
