Lafayette, LA – Per reports, the Caddo Sheriff’s Marine Unit had retrieved a body from Wallace Lake.
Around 10:30, patrol deputies received a call to investigate the well-being of an elderly neighbor in the 11000 block of Cypress Garden Road, who hadn’t been seen for several days.
Sgt. Chad Davis found an unoccupied canoe on the lake and subsequently located a body roughly 150 yards from the shore.
As of now, the identity of the deceased remains unknown, though foul play is not suspected.
The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office is conducting an ongoing investigation.
