Two Dead in Monday Night Crash on La. 347

Arnaudville, LA – A fatal crash on Monday night claimed the lives of two individuals in St. Landry Parish. According to Louisiana State Police, troopers responded to the scene of the accident around 9 p.m. on La. 347 near its intersection with Huron Road.

The victims were identified as Kent Allemand, 42, and Angel Allemand, 52, both of Arnaudville. Initial reports from authorities suggest that Kent Allemand was driving a car northbound on La. 347 when the vehicle veered off the road to the right and struck a tree.

Neither Kent Allemand nor his passenger, Angel Allemand, were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and both were pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency personnel.

A preliminary investigation into the crash is ongoing, and State Police have urged motorists to take additional safety precautions while driving. “While not all crashes are survivable, wearing seatbelts correctly can significantly reduce your chances of severe injury,” a statement from the Louisiana State Police reads. “Ensure that the seatbelt is correctly positioned across your hips, chest, and shoulders, and make sure that children are securely fastened in appropriate car seats.”

Authorities also stressed the importance of avoiding distracted and inattentive driving, citing it as a leading cause of crashes in the state.

The incident remains under investigation by the Louisiana State Police.
