NEW IBERIA, LA – A fatal shooting occurred on Saturday night in New Iberia, leaving one man dead.
At approximately 10:45 p.m. on March 22, officers with the New Iberia Police Department (NIPD) responded to reports of a shooting in the 700 block of South LaSalle Street. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities discovered a man lying in the roadway, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to assist, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, few details have been released regarding the circumstances of the shooting. Investigators with NIPD are actively working to determine the events that led to the fatal incident.
